The team work as part of the National Risk & Resilience Department and provide a specialised emergency response to major incidents across Scotland. This might involve hazardous materials or incidents, challenging and hazardous environments or where the level of risk is extremely high. The team also works closely with external partners to proactively manage possible risk within situations to mitigate emergencies wherever possible.

By using the very latest technology and equipment, the Special Operation Team works very closely with other emergency services across Scotland, to ensure that we are able to get the very best care to patient, regardless of where they are.

Those working in the Special Operations Team must under go additional training and experience to be able to respond to any situation that they face.
