A Dispatcher

Dispatchers are responsible for ensuring that the nearest and most appropriate vehicles and crews are sent to Emergency and Urgent Calls. This is achieved using a Priority Based Dispatch system and other protocols and strategies to maintain the optimum use of the resources available. The Dispatcher must be able to make fast and accurate judgements on which is the most appropriate resource which will be able to meet respond to any call.

Not all calls are life-threatening but as an emergency medical dispatcher the way you listen and interpret each call will make a vital difference to the response our patients receive.

A full training package is provided on appointment to the role.

Roles are generally on a Band 4 which from April 2011 is £18,402 - £21,798
