In the coming weeks, a shortlist will be generated from the companies who submitted a pre-qualification questionnaire. Those on the shortlist will be invited to tender for the next generation Air Ambulance. The closing date for tender submissions will be spring 2011, where a further comprehensive and robust evaluation will take place, before a preferred supplier is selected at the early Autumn.
A further update will be issued once the preferred supplier is identified. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who took the time to share their views on Air Ambulance. We received over 650 pieces of feedback from individuals or groups. This has been extremely valuable in developing a tender specification which takes account of the needs of our patients and of the staff and clinicians who use this service.
