Volunteering in the Service

The Scottish Ambulance Service welcomes and encourages active participation both within our decision making and our service delivery. Below are a number of ways in which you can volunteer for the Service. For all volunteering positions within the Service you will have a contact member of staff, receive appropriate training and be able to claim reasonable expenses. Any support needs will also be provided on request. 

Become a member of your local Scottish Ambulance Service Patient Focus Public Involvement group, know as an “Involving People Group”

Apply to become a member of our National Patient Focus Public Involvement Steering Group

Support the Infection Control team by performing hand hygiene audits

Volunteer as a committee member of one of our Service Strategy Programme Boards or standing committees

Join one of our Community First Responder schemes, there are 120 groups across Scotland 

Participate in our Annual Patient survey by contacting Debbie McGowan
